Can any1 be of help to me ! im trying to take off my dash so i can replace my carpet in my 91 lx , which by the was cooney278 , now has a 355 going in it , still working on the tranny though ! also if any1 needs the kit to replace carpet and dont mind a little work , you can get the whole kit from streetsideauto.com for a little under 83 bucks, thats front , back , trunk and factory floor mats!!!! but can some1 tell me how to take off the dash without breaking the dang thing cause i know thats just what might happen ?!!

The dash isnt that hard to take out just time consuming.
First remove your console , then there is about 6 bolts across the top of the dash by the winsheild , then down the sides there is 4 bolts 2 on each side , then across the bottom kinda stand on your head to take these out.
Remove all the panels on the front of the dash , start unplugging wires and then unplug some more , you just have to be careful with everything. The plastic will break pretty easy .
That is a quick rundown of it. Just be easy with it and look for bolts and screws and you will eventually get it out. And dont be surprised if you have a few bolts left when put it back together. lol
By the way why do you have to take the dash out to install carpeting ?

lol thanks i been known to have leftovers when i get finished sometimes ! but a guy that was telling me how to install the carpet said that taking out the dash is the first step............ is there another way or easier way?

Just pull out the center console , seats , and the carpeting will go in and out. No need that I know of to pull the dash to install carpeting.
