We stripped almost everything out of the dash - no heater - no air conditioner (It's a convertable for god sake!) and no computer.
Self Exciting (single hot wire) alternator from Lake Michigan Auto Parts (1-616-842-3530) costs about $80 - talk to Randy & he might be willing to start shipping parts across the continental US.
The GM starter carries the sylonoid on it - nohting extra there to worry about. Get a hot wire to it from the ignition switch and the fat hot cable from the starter and you are all set.
The HEI ignition simply runs on a 12v hot wire.
Now you have spark, charging and starting - simple. The last thing you have to do is ground the motor to the body & subframe - making sure the battery is grounded and the car will start.
The rest of the electrical is limited to gages & lights.
Don't panic when it comes to the electrical. A little bit of effort and a little bit of common sense goes a long way.
