Hi all I am looking for input, I have been building cars for 28 years and realy dont like ford engines. They cost twice as much to go half as fast:) My shop had to build a customer a 383 and he was running short of money after I got the engine finished so he had a really nice GT with no motor or trans so I helped him out and took the little horse off his hands. I want it to look as factory as possible other than the 383 that I'm putting in it.First thing I want to know is, is there a shifter that will fir in the console that I can use Going with a 700r4 Trans I dont really like the factory shifter for the automatic, the car had a 5 speed in it so I have to remove all the clutch hardware. Second will the front end handle the weight of a sbc without drastic changes. Third is motor mount placement,My plans are to add some 1/4" plate and gusset it forward and using camaro clam mounts. If anyone has any pics of one of these bodys with a sbc in I sure would like to see them so please send them to me or tell me were I can go to see them.
