need help with fuel problem

i have a 93 foxbody mustang with a 350 chevy conversion and i recently encountered a fuel problem, i replaced the fuel pump on the engine but still cant get it to run. as far as i know the pump in the tank was never functioning but the car always ran fine. PLEASE HELP ASAP.

There is also a sock fuel filter in the tank. But if the stock pump is still in the tank I can see that causing alot of prpoblems. Just take it out and make you a pick up tube.
