The driveshaft is out of a mid 80's monte carlo. We had the rear end cut off and the ford rear welded in place. Cost me $40 each time. The first time I measured wrong and had it made 1" too long. Took it back and they simply cut off an inch.
They'd said that the ford driveshaft was not the best material to try to weld - they wouldn't guarantee that it would hold up at all. So they are the ones who suggested using the chevy shaft with the ford rear U joint.
I'll get a measurement - I havn't made it to the car in a couple of weeks, but I will be there next weekend to get a bunch of information to get posted in here.

Go on ebay and order a driveshaft to fit. Southernspeed sells driveshafts on there in any length and are good shafts. Will take a transbrake beating on it. The rear joint in the shaft is a 1310 and the rear joint that goes in the 8.8 yoke takes a 1310 joint. Comes with a front yoke that will fit a turbo 350.
my shaft was 165.00 , balanced and will take whatever I throw at it.
